Whitefoot Assembly Fund Market Place (inc Voting)

Minutes:

Stalls were provided for the 5 shortlisted projects and also for the Beckenham Place Park Heritage Lottery Fund consultation

Attendees were asked to rank their projects from 1-5.

Welcome from the Chair

Minutes:

Cllr Mark Ingleby thanked the project applicants for their impressive stalls, and thanked the attendees for engaging in the voting process. The votes would be counted a funding announcements made before the close of the meeting.

 

 

3.

Summer Event

Minutes:

Cllr Janet Daby advised the assembly that there were some options forms on the tables that allowed people to sign up and suggest a summer event or away day, and encouraged people to contribute.

4.

Community Updates

Minutes:

Road Improvements, Cllr Mark Ingleby provided an update in terms of the planned road improvements in the Ward as provided by transport colleagues.

 

Police update, Cllr Janet Daby gave an update on policing in Whitefoot, specifically around problem areas and had relevant leaflets on hand provided by Andy Morris.

 

Neighbourhood Safety, Selvin Reid gave a brief overview of what his team were dealing with and that if people had issues, that they should contact him Selvin.Reid@lewisham.gov.uk 0208 314 6480

 

Time Banking, Simone Boothe from Rushey Green Time Bank gave an update on the Time Banking work that is happening at Goldsmiths and how people can get involved, she also let people know that Jane Fifield who used to cover this area is leaving RGTB and so for the foreseeable future people should contact her simone@rgtb.org.uk

Voting results

Minutes:

Cllr Ingleby announced that the successful projects were, in no particular order;

Older Person Befriending Service, Aging Well Lewisham/LCC

Supplementary Education, Downham Tamil Association

Whitefoot and Downham Community Food Plus Project

Timebank Café @The Food Place, Goldsmiths Community Assoc

 

However, as the final project the Befriender Scheme for Parents and Carers, submitted by the Parent Support Group was also such a fantastic project, the Cllrs agreed to endeavour to find some funds towards supporting that project as well

 

6.

Family Pathways

Minutes:

Lisa Scott-Keen the project manager for Family Pathways came to let the Assembly know who Family Pathways are and what they can do to support people within the ward, specifically they provide holistic support to children and families who are not reaching social care support thresholds, and where the eldest child in the family is between 5-10 years on age. 7.

Conisborough College

Minutes:

Nick Mallet, the Assistant Head Teacher at Conisborough College said a few words detailing how he hoped that the school and it’s students could become an integral part of the assembly moving forwards and thanked the assembly and councillors for holding the meeting in the school.
