3.         Clinical Commissioning Group update

The second half of the meeting was chaired by Cllr Peake. Cllr Peake reminded the assembly that at the last meeting the Southwark Clinical Commission Group was consulting regarding improvements to their services in Dulwich and the surrounding areas. They were looking at two possible options - either by having a larger health facility on the Dulwich Hospital site and core services only in general practices, or by having a smaller facility at Dulwich and more services in some of the larger general practices.

The consultation has now finished and the recommendation is to pursue the Dulwich Hospital option. For more information regarding the recommendations visit www.southwark.nhs.uk

4.                  SEE3 Neighbourhood Planning update

Hilary Jarrett from the Forest Hill Society spoke to the assembly about the Neighbourhood Planning Framework. This commenced a few years ago and involves the SE23 and SE26 areas including Forest Hill, Sydenham, Perry Vale and Honor Oak. The SEE3 Legacy Group is now pushing this and acting as an umbrella organisation.

There was a meeting in September to look at the priorities and those agreed were:

  • A planning group
  • Kirkdale – want to see a higher standard as some proposals really poor
  • Forest Hill Town Centre – 10 year strategy, ie how do we want it to look in 2023
  • Working with other local groups in Honor Oak Park and Honor Oak Parade
  • Issues with local town centres, what can be learnt
  • Signage strategy ie the street clutter report that was commissioned although little has happened
  • Impact of streetscape changes in Sydenham
