RESOLVED that the minutes of the meeting of the Licensing Supplementary Committee held on 6 February 2018 be agreed.

3.1      Ms Parkinson introduced the report. She said that the proposed charge increases had been advertised but no written representations had been received.

3.2      The proposal to increase charges was being sought because of price rises and increase in maintenance charges relating to market trading.

RESOLVED that

(i)         the report be noted;

(ii)        the level of street trading charges proposed in Appendix A of the report for the financial year 2018 onwards be approved. These changes will take effect from 1st April 2018 for:-

a) Deptford Markets

b) Catford market

c) Lewisham 6 day market

d) Lewisham Sunday market

e) other miscellaneous market sites within the Borough

f) street trading licence fees; and

g) administrative charges for registration, licences, proposals to revoke

licences on ground of charges arrears

RESOLVED that that under Section 100(A)(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs [3, 4 and 5] of Part 1 of Schedule 12(A) of the Act,  and the public interest in maintaining the exemption outweighs the public interest in disclosing the information.
