Referral Healthier Communities Select Committee Grove Park pdf icon PDF 194 KB

Decision:

Having considered an officer report, and a presentation by the Chair of the

Healthier Communities Select Committee, Councillor John Muldoon, the

Mayor agreed that the views of the Select Committee as set out be received

and asked that the Select Committee be informed that the requested action

had been undertaken.

Minutes:

The referral was presented by Councillor John Muldoon who outlined the

complicated background to a proposed GP provision in Grove Park, which

included an item being placed on his Select Committee agenda by Councillor

Colin Elliott, conflicting petitions being lodged at the Council meeting in July,

and consideration of a planning application at Planning Committee in August.

The Mayor thanked Councillor Muldoon for his diligence and observed there

were separate considerations of health provision and planning matters at

stake. He reported he had been made aware of the Healthier Communities

Select Committee’s deliberations and had also received a written request sent

on behalf of the Overview & Scrutiny Business Panel. He noted that the

planning process, which was outside his control, had concluded in August but

that he had been happy to arrange, as requested, a cordial meeting of

interested parties earlier in September. He therefore concluded that he had

carried out the action being requested and that the Select Committee be

informed of this fact.

Having considered an officer report, and a presentation by the Chair of the

Healthier Communities Select Committee, Councillor John Muldoon, the

Mayor:

RESOLVED that the views of the Select Committee as set out be received

and asked that the Select Committee be informed that the requested action

had been undertaken.
