Implementation of a Public Space Protection Order

Decision type: Key

Reason Key: Significant impact on 2 or more wards;

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Wards affected: (All Wards);

Notice of proposed decision first published: 18/04/2024

This decision will be taken under urgency procedures.

Reason for urgency:
A report will be considered at the meeting of Mayor & Cabinet on 8th May 2024 regarding the implementation of a Public Space Protection Order. The matter under consideration has been included on the forward plan of key decisions since 18th April 2024.

The reason why the matter was not included in the forward plan for the usual 28 days is that there is a pattern of an increase in anti-social behaviour during the summer months and delaying the decision until the June meeting of Mayor & Cabinet will impede the ability of officers to fully implement any decision made regarding the PSPO.

Decision due: 8 May 2024 by Mayor and Cabinet

Lead member: Cabinet Member for Refugees, Safer Lewisham and Equalities

Lead director: Executive Director for Adult Social Care and Health

Department: Adult Social Care and Health Directorate
