We the undersigned petition the council to We, the undersigned, believe that Lewisham Council's attempt, without meaningful consultation, to close Manor Lane, Manor Lane Terrace and several other roads in Lee Green ward, to motor vehicles has (A) been shown to be impractical and unacceptable to many residents (B) to have been improper use of the temporary power granted to local councils under The Traffic Orders Procedure (Coronavirus) (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2020. These regulations may only be used during the coronavirus emergency to put in place "measures needed to deal with the effects of coronavirus."
We further note that this proposal seriously impacts the safe
circulation of motor vehicles, emergency vehicles, trucks, vans etc
causing hazards to pedestrians, cyclists, parked vehicles and
creating "rat runs" elswhere in the vicinity.
