Introductions
- Cllr Bell welcomed
everyone to the meeting and explained the agenda to the
meeting

Lewisham’s Plans for the 2012 Olympics
- The video was shown
to the meeting
- Joanna Moulton, LBL
Officer, gave a presentation outlining Lewisham’s plans for
the Olympics
- The Chair then opened
the meeting for questions
- Q1: where is the
Olympic Torch leaving from?
- A1:
On Monday 23 July at
7.30am, the Olympic Torch Relay will set off from the Laban building of Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in
Creekside at the start of its journey
through Lewisham.
- Q2: What’s being done to let people know
where torch is etc?
- A2: Look and Feel dressing of the
borough as discussed that will be in place for the Torch Relay in
Lewisham on Monday 23rd July. From
early July there will be a promotional campaign across the borough
through A6 postcards that will be distributed through a range of
venues and have on one side of it a map showing the Torch Relay
route through Lewisham. There are also regular updates in the
e-bulletin and Lewisham Life. More

- Q3: As a result of
the Live Site People’s Day isn’t happening. People’s Day was a good opportunity for
community groups to raise their profile and get
involved. Will this be possible at the
Live Site?
- A3: Cllr Millbank responded that there would be a community
day on Saturday 4th August.
Information should have been sent to all community
groups.
- Q4: What is
‘out of my window’?
- A4: A creative
writing project. – taking place on 10th
August. There will be a whole day of
spoken word activities.
- Q5: Is this (out of
my window) happening at non-Council run libraries?
- A5: Yes
- Q6: Are any Choirs
taking part?
- A6: Yes –
several including Sing Out.

Refreshment break and mapping exercise

Cllr Bell explained the exercise and people were
encouraged to participate during the refreshment break
|

Action Plan partners project update
- Jane Keane from Just
Older Youth (JOY) did a presentation on the two activities the
Assembly funded the group to put on.
- She said the
Christmas Party was very successful and enjoyed by all and that the
intergenerational photography project was going really well and was
good fun.
- Nadine Hibbert from Friends of Frendsbury Gardens did a presentation on the
project’s history and how the Assembly had
helped.
- She emphasises the
importance of building a contingency fund into budgets to deal with
unforeseen problems.
- Cllr Millbank gave an update on the Honor Oak Estate ring fenced money including the
recently conducted survey
- She explained that
the results were being analysed and then project proposals would be
formed.
