Permission to award a Leisure Management Contract
Decision: Having considered a confidential officer report, and a presentation by Councillor Andre Bourne, the Mayor and Cabinet agreed the recommendations as set out in the report by 7-0. The decision will become effective on 19 August 2020 unless called in by the Overview and Scrutiny Business Panel. Minutes: Having considered a confidential officer report, and a presentation by Councillor Andre Bourne, the Mayor and Cabinet, for the reasons set out in the report, agreed the recommendations by a vote of 7-0 and:
RESOLVED that:
(1) the intention to end the current Leisure Management Agreement (“LMA”) with Fusion Lifestyle Ltd be noted;
(2) the award of a two year contract, with the option to extend for a further three years, to GLL be approved with a stated maximum value;
(3) the negotiation of the final details of the contract be delegated to the Executive Director for Community Services on the advice of the Director of Law, Governance and HR;
(4) the future approval of permitted extensions of up to a further 3 years be delegated to the Executive Director for Community Services on the advice of the Director of Law, Governance and HR subject to the value not exceeding the maximum value as set out;
(5) an annual report be brought to Mayor and Cabinet to update on the financial performance of the contract; and
(6) during the period of this contract, further recommendations will be brought to Mayor and Cabinet on the future of Leisure Services in Lewisham.
