The Speaker of the Council MOVED, the Deputy Mayor SECONDED and it was RESOLVED that the minutes of the AGM held on 25 May 2022 be confirmed and signed as a true and accurate record.

In addition to the four written announcements, the Speaker made two further announcements as follows:

1.    He wished the England women’s football team good luck in the Women’s Euro quarterfinal; and

2.    The Speaker’s consort for 2022-23 would be his daughter, Safa Noor Tauseef.

Councillor Jacq Paschoud presented a public petition containing 92 signatures and calling for the provision of a swimming pool at the Bellingham Leisure and Lifestyle Centre in Randlesdown Road.

Minutes:

Councillor De Ryk MOVED, the Deputy Mayor SECONDED and it was RESOLVED that the Director of Law, Governance and Elections be instructed to amend the Special Responsibility Allowances Scheme to achieve the following:

·        Wherever and only where there is a Cabinet Member supported by an Associate Cabinet Member, the Cabinet Member receives 50% of the full SRA payable to Cabinet Members;

·        The Associate Cabinet Member receives an allowance the equivalent of 50% of the full SRA ordinarily payable to Cabinet Members.
