RESOLVED that minutes of the Meeting of the Overview and Scrutiny Business Panel held on 28 June 2022 be confirmed as an accurate record, subject to the following:

Subject to the following amendments:

·       Item 5, Line 6 – to add “and income generation opportunities after “wellbeing in the borough”

·       Item 6 “Scrutiny Report” – to revise

o   Paragraph 4 to state: “Councillor Millbank asked when was the democracy review going to be reviewed?”

o   Paragraph 5 as follows: “Councillor Sorba stated that he was not in favour of task and finish group continuing until there had been a review within the scrutiny setting”

 

On matters arising, Councillor Chris Best followed up on information provided to the Panel that officers would seek legal advice on the need to undertake formal consultation on a report considered in ‘closed session’ relating to the Leisure Management contract.

The meeting noted that Councillor Wise was unable to send her apologies for absence to the meeting of the Overview and Scrutiny Business Panel held on 8 February 2022 because she was unwell.  

 

An amendment to add the letter “t” to the last word of the last sentence on page 5 of the agenda pack to the Minutes of the Panel meeting held 25 January 2022 was noted. 

 

With the above considerations, the Panel

 

RESOLVED that minutes of meetings of the Overview and Scrutiny Business Panel held on 8 February 2022 and 25 January 2022, be confirmed as accurate records.

The Chair of the Panel, Councillor Bill Brown, stated that Jane Keogh attended the meeting on 19 February 2021 as a representative of Save the Lewisham Hospital Campaign.

 

The Panel agreed that the Minutes of Meeting of the Overview and Scrutiny Panel of 19 February 2021 would be considered at the next meeting to note the following amendments for accuracy:

·                         To change the wordings on Page 2 from: “Jane Keogh from Lewisham Refugees and Migrants Network”, to:

“Jane Keogh from the Save Lewisham Hospital Campaign”.

Councillor Millbank asked that the minutes be changed from;

 

Item 5- “Councillor Millbank said that nursery provision was important and Lewisham would be supporting the nursery to find an alternative site because it would only be available for 5 years.” to;

 

“Councillor Millbank said that nursery provision was important and Lewisham would be supporting the nursery to find an alternative site.” As the sentence is not factual or an accurate depiction of what was said.

 

The amendment was agreed.

 

On matters arising, Councillor Millbank asked if there was any information on her question of whether Lewisham Market toilets were open, and requested that the relevant officer gives this information at their earliest convenience.

 

The minutes were agreed.
