The Planning Officer outlined details of the proposal for the construction of a part 2, part 3 storey place of worship (D1) with community facilities including crèche, café and offices with basement level parking for 28 cars and the construction of a part 2, part 3 storey residential block comprising 2, two bedroom houses and 7, two bedroom flats, together with bin stores, associated landscaping and amenity space and new vehicular access points onto Lampmead Road and Lee High Road following the demolition of the existing church buildings at 372 Lee High Road SE12.

 

A document provided by one of the supporters of the proposals, detailing the activities of the place of worship was tabled in front of Members.

 

The Committee received verbal representation from Mr John Hardie and Mr Nick Hughes in support of the proposal.

The Committee also received verbal representations from Mr Charles Batchelor, on behalf of the Lee Manor Society against the proposals.

Following deliberation, Councillor Till moved the motion to accept the officer’s recommendation and refuse permission, which was seconded by Councillor Upex.

Members voted as follows:

 

AGAINST:          Councillors Amrani (Chair) Kennedy (Vice chair), Adefiranye, Raven, Bourne, Till, Upex, Walsh and Reid.

 

RESOLVED:     that Planning Permission be refused in respect of application no. DC/14/89277, for the reasons as set out in the officer’s report.

The planning officer outlined details of the proposal for the erection of 4 external lighting columns of 8 metres in height to provide lighting to the Multi Use Games Area at Sydenham School, Dartmouth Road SE26.

The Committee received verbal representation from Charlotte Burchell of Savills, the agent representing the applicant.

 

Following questions and deliberation Councillor Adefiranye moved the motion to accept the officer’s recommendation and grant planning permission, which was seconded by Councillor Bourne.

Members voted as follows:

FOR:                        Councillors: Amrani (Chair), Kennedy (Vice chair), Adefiranye, Bourne, Raven, Till and Reid.

AGAINST:                 Councillors: Walsh and Upex.

 

RESOLVED:that Planning Permission be granted in respect of application no. DC/14/89249, subject to conditions as set out in the officer’s report.

 

Councillor Upex left the meeting.

The planning officer outlined details of the proposal for the construction of two dormer windows to the rear roof slope, the installation of one conservation roof light to the side roof slope, together with a new window to the front facing gable end at 74 Culverley Road SE6.

Following deliberation Councillor Walsh moved the motion to defer making a decision until accurate drawings can be submitted to establish the true scale of the proposed window within the front gable which was seconded by Councillor Till.

Members voted as follows:

 

FOR:                 Councillor Amrani (Chair), Till, Raven, Reid and Walsh.

 

AGAINST:          Councillors Kennedy (Vice chair), Adefiranye, Bourne.

 

RESOLVED:     that Planning Permission be deferred in respect of application no. DC/14/89277, until accurate drawings can be submitted to establish the true scale of the proposed window within the front gable.
