The Chair stated that he had received a response from the Executive Director for Children and Young People following Panel members request on some of Lewisham School’s Governing bodies. The Chair added that the query was specific to Prendergast and Leathersellers and the information received was incomplete.

The Chair explained that the LEA has a leadership role and should ensure its partners were aware of the importance of diversity within the representatives on its schools. The Chair requested that an audit of governors in Lewisham schools, including Leathersellers and Haberdashers and any other independent bodies be done for the Children and Young People Select Committee, looking at race, gender and ethnicity. This to be reported to the Business Panel.
