Minutes:

The written comments of the Overview & Scrutiny Buisness Panel on two

matters and the written comments of the Overview & Scrutiny Education

Business Panel on the Lewisham Learning Partnership were jointly presented

by Councillor Alan Hall.

 

The Mayor responded to the individual points in the referals from the

Education Business Panel and Business Panel as follows:

Having considered an officer report and a presentation by the Cabinet

Member for Resources, Councillor Kevin Bonavia, the Mayor agreed that:

 

(1) the review of the implementation of the Armed Forces Covenant for

Lewisham be noted;

 

(2) the ongoing work being done to live up to the commitments made in the

Armed Forces Covenant for Lewisham be noted;

 

(3) the appointment of Cllr Kevin Bonavia as Armed Forces Cabinet

Champion be noted;

Minutes:

In accepting the role of Armed Forces Cabinet champion, Councillor Kevin

Bonavia paid tribute to the efforts of Councillors Egan, Morrison and Walsh in

promoting armed forces issues and relations.

 

Having considered an officer report and a presentation by the Cabinet

set out in the report:

 

RESOLVED that:

Member for Policy and Performance, Councillor Joe Dromey, the Mayor

agreed that the initial response be noted and a further update be brought to

Mayor and Cabinet in October.

Minutes:

The Mayor observed that the presenting officer, Sam Elliot was leaving the

authority to take up employment at the Royal Borough of Kensington and

Chelsea. He thanked him for his five years of service and wished him well in

his challenging new role.
